The pineapple has long been considered a symbol of hospitality and can be seen on many gate posts, fences, and doorways in Charleston. Sew’ n Sew, a local quilt shop, is making up kits of the quilt below which is titled “Hospitality.” I had the honor of doing some custom quilting on the shop sample. Check out the embellishment on the pineapple – it’s a premade fabric rick rack – pretty cool. The finished quilt measures 48″ square. As always, you can click on the thumbnail of each picture to see a larger view.
