I’ve fully recovered from the viral bug that had me laid pretty low for a couple of weeks. And just in time to pack for our big trip to the Rocky Mountains and Alaska!
I just made a quilt using Bonnie Hunter’s Strip Twist pattern. I used Bali Pops (2 1/2 inch strips of Bali batiks). After piecing the strips and cutting the triangles for the center of the top I had some leftover pieces so I used them in the border. It is quilted with an overall paisley/teardrop design. This one is going to WV for my sister’s guest house.

Oh that’s going to look nice. Very pretty, lots of movement!

It looks great! I’m working on this same pattern using the Sherbert Bali pops. I like your border. Is it O.K. if I borrow your idea?

Of course you can use my idea, Jackie! Thanks for looking.

Love your quilt and the quilting is perfect. Love the colors and the funky border design. I’ve used a few of Bonnie Hunts scappy quilt ideas but still have a scrap bin of astranomical size.

Thanks Nancy. My scraps are about to take over the studio.

I have 4 packages of the Bali Pops, and I’ve been wondering what to do with them. I really like how your quilt looks. The quilting is fun, whimsical, and suits it perfectly!

Thanks, Lynn. To get the dark/light values correct I did have to pull one light batik from my stash – you can see it in each strip set – it’s the lightest one. I’ve got the blue and green pops and may have to make another one of these.

That’s the pretties quilt of this design that I’ve seen. I love it and your quilting is fabulous.
