It rains on the just

and the unjust.  Today it rained on the funeral.  It was just a drizzle/light rain most of the morning but as we set out to the memorial gardens for burial the rain and wind picked up.  I was pretty sure the tent was going to blow over and the gusts sent the rain in on the few who traveled to the cemetery.  We need the rain badly and Hutch loved his vegetable garden and his flowers so he would have been happy to see the rain.

The rain is from Tropical Depression Barry.  The hurricane season officially began yesterday and already we’re on named storm number two.   Since we are seven inches behind in rainfall for the year we will take as many of these depressions as we can get!  The corn was beginning to twist -hopefully this rain will alleviate that problem.  The farmers have already suffered a loss from the freeze on Easter weekend.
