Sunflower Show

000_0009-009.jpg000_0007-007.jpg000_0006-006.jpg000_0005-005.jpg000_0004-004.jpg000_0002-002.jpgEvery year we plant a variety of sunflowers along the back edge of our property and our neighboring farmer’s fields.  Some years the farmer plants soybeans, some years cotton, sometimes corn.  This is a corn year.  I have a tiny alley I can walk between the sunflowers and the corn stalks – no one can see me but the bees – and they are too busy buzzing to pay any attention to me.  I can never decide which variety is my favorite – but this year the little dwarf one is winning my heart.  The sunflowers are at the peak of their bloom and putting on quite a show.

These pics are especially for my good friend Jolene who loves sunflowers.  J – by the time you get here they will not be so pretty.

I would like to see a larger picture of that pink quilt below, the one with the taupe in it and the squares. Is there any way I can see a larger picture? Is there a pattern for this quilt? It looks cute. Thanks

Ericka – that quilt is my guild’s (Cobblestone Quilters Guild – see link) opportunity quilt for our 2008 show. It was pieced by the Night Herons which are a splinter group of the guild – it was just a row quilt done using the Charleston line of fabrics by Marcus Brothers and quilted by yours truly.

You can see other shots of it on my Webshots (see link) and at the guild website.
