A little breath of Spring

This year my sidekick Jolene participated in a $5 quilt BOM at her LQS. I’m not sure they should have called it a $5 quilt because they had to pay $5 each month and then I think $15 for the center because she’s now calling it her $75 quilt. Most places you pay $5 for the first block and if you bring that one back finished the next month then you get the next block for free – the object being to get you into the shop on a regular basis and hopefully you’ll be purchasing something each time.

They did do two blocks each month and they didn’t know what the center would be until the last month. There was a lot of hype about the center and we were expecting an applique design – a medallion or something like that – to just get a panel was pretty disappointing.

But all complaining aside it came out very pretty and sure looks like Spring time. I’m going to quilt it and then Jolene will donate it to our guild’s silent auction at our next show. I’m betting some doting Grammy will snatch that up for a dear granddaughter.

I would be quite disappointed to just get a panel for the center. But, it sure did turn out really cute. Sheila
